She moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 2015 where she enrolled in the University of Alaska Anchorage. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in sculpture and a secondary in ceramics in 2021. Growing up she worked mostly in two-dimensional mediums but in undergrad found that three-dimensional mediums like clay, steel, string, aluminum, and wood were more conducive for her work. In her practice, Maxine places importance on order, materiality, placement, and the appearance of simplicity. She is interested in exploring the play between the second, third, and fourth dimensions and how the viewer relates to them spatially.
